Microsoft has launched two new additions to their Surface PC lineup - the 12-inch Surface Pro and the 13-inch Surface Laptop. The two devices are powered by the Snapdragon X Plus processor with 6GB of RAM, Microsoft said in a blog making the announcement.
The Surface Pro is priced at $799 and above while the Surface Laptop starts at $899, making them slightly cheaper than the Snapdragon X Elite models.
The laptop delivers the longest battery life of any Surface, being expected to handle 23 hours of video playback and 16 hours of active browsing. The touchscreen display is 1920x1280 with a refresh rate of up to 60Hz. The device carries a couple of USB Type-C ports for charging and data transfer and a USB 3.1 Type-A port is also there.
It also has support for fast charging.
The Microsoft Surface Pro has a tablet-like form and an LCD touchscreen of 2196x1464 display. The device has the same Hexagon NPU as the Pro laptop and offers the same specs. The laptop can handle 16 hours of video and 12 hours of active browsing. The battery life can last a day.
The laptop also comes with an adjustable kickstand and detachable keyboard with the Surface Slim Pen that attaches itself magnetically to the back of the tablet. The 12-inch keyboard features a smooth matte palm rest and a full-size backlit keyset and a customisable precision touchpad with adaptive touch mode.
Both devices will bring new Copilot+ features like Recall which is able to bring up information for users from memory when asked and a new natural language search for documents and settings.
