Google Gemini’s new feature can turn photos into video clips

Google is rolling out a new feature on Gemini AI that can transform photos into eight-second video clips with sound. Powered by their Veo 3 model, the feature is available to Google AI Ultra and Pro users in “select regions” for now, the company said.

Users need to select ‘Videos’ from the tool menu in the prompt box and upload their photo. Then, they can enter a prompt describing the video and any audio instructions including dialogue or any ambient sounds. Once its done, users can click on the share button and download it.

“You can get creative by animating everyday objects, bringing your drawings and paintings to life or adding movement to nature scenes,” Google said in a blog post.

The generated videos will also have a visible watermark as well as an invisible SynthID digital watermark to show they’re AI generated.

Google has also rolled out the same feature earlier for their AI video generator for filmmakers, Flow, back in May.
