Samsung on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) launched the Galaxy 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic smartwatches in India. The new Galaxy Watch 8 series will run One UI 8 Watch and Gemini out of the box, and also features Now Bar. The rotating bezel makes a reentry with Watch 8 Classic.
Galaxy Watch 8 comes in 44mm and 40mm sizes and in Graphite and Silver. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic only has the 46mm variant and comes in Black and White.
Galaxy Watch 8 (40mm) has a 1.34-inch Super AMOLED always on display with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits whereas the 44mm gets a 1.47-inch Super AMOLED always on screen with same brightness.
The 40mm Watch 8 holds a 325 mAh battery while the 44mm model gets a 435 mAh cell. The Watch 8 Classic ships with a 445 mAh battery.

Both the Watch 8 series smartwatches run on a 3nm Exynos W1000 processor. The Watch 8 offers 2 GB RAM and 32 GB storage while the Watch 8 Classic has 2 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. They operate on Wear OS 6.
The Watch 8 series comes with the BioActive sensor for health stats including sleep and even detecting moderate to severe signs of sleep apnea and bedtime guidance to measure circadian rhythm. Vascular Load helps monitor the stress levels on your vascular system during sleep.
It also introduces the Antioxidant Index for the first time in a smartwatch, enabling users to measure carotenoid levels in five seconds.
Galaxy Watch 8 series offers personalised fitness insights. Running Coach calculates fitness level from 1 to 10 and develops a tailored training plan complete with real-time guidance and insights.
High Stress alert will now immediately signal so that you can take a break to help manage your stress levels in real-time.
Galaxy Watch 8 starts at ₹32,999 (40mm) and ₹35,999 for the (44mm). Galaxy Watch 8 Classic starts at ₹46,999. Galaxy Watch 8 and Galaxy Watch 8 Classic are available for pre-order with general availability starting July 25.
