Samsung will reveal its seventh generation of foldable phones on Wednesday (July 9, 2025) in a global unveiling during the Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 event. The South Korean electronics major bets big on generative AI, Galaxy AI, to make these multitasking phones more productive.
Samsung is expected to launch three foldable phones: Galaxy Z Fold 7 Ultra (probably a new addition to the family), along with Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
The new Galaxy foldable and flip phones are most likely to feature an overrun version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor with up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage. Samsung will also stress upon its newest skin, the One UI 8, as these phones are likely to run on it, post-launch, based on Android 16.
A 200 MP main camera is also expected in the series to mimic the camera prowess of its Ultra series. The telephoto lens is likely to remain unchanged too. Samsung is not expected to go big on the selfie camera in these phones. However, the inner front lens could see some improvements.
Samsung, being a miser on the battery front, is expected to pack up to 5,000 mAh of battery capacity in the Fold 7, and a 4,700 mAh battery capacity in Flip 7. The charger will not be included in the box, as always. We are not sure about the ‘Ultra’ or the ‘FE’ variant battery capacity since it will be a new addition.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 could get a 7.9-inch display while upfront, it may get a 6.5-inch panel. The Flip 7 is least likely to get any display changes.
Samsung could also launch the Galaxy 8 series smartwatches along with the foldable phones. It might come in two variants of base and classic.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked July 2025 will stream from 7:30 PM IST.
Samsung foldable phones will be among the super premium foldable phones this year and they will compete with the likes of Vivo’s foldable, Motorola’s flip and Google’s bending devices, later.
