Google updates icon after a decade

Google has updated its icon for the first time in more than ten years. The logo for the Google Search app on both iOS and Android now shows the four colours blended into each other with undefined boundaries instead of the marked lines that were present before. 

A Google9to5report stated that while the update appeared for iOS users yesterday, for Android users the new icon reflected on Monday with the 16.18 beta version.

Meanwhile, the other logo that spells Google out in search remains the same. 

Last in 2015, the company had updated its font to a more modern, sans-serif typeface. Prior to that, the old Google logo used the Catull typeface and had been in use since 1999.
