Anthropic unveils new Research tool, Google Workspace integration

Anthropic AI has announced that their AI chatbot Claude will now be integrated with Google Workspace so it can search through emails, events and documents. The AI firm also launched a new research feature that is able to function like an agent.

The Google Workspace integration will be rolled out to Max, Team, Enterprise and Pro plan subscribers. Before connecting the chatbot with their Google Workspace account, administrators have to enable the integration.

“Ask Claude to pull together meeting notes from last week, identify action items from follow-up email threads, and search relevant documents for additional context. Claude brings these insights directly to you, eliminating hours of manual work and letting you focus on strategic planning instead of information gathering,” said Anthropic in a blog post about the update.

“Claude will provide inline citations that you can use to verify the source, so that you can trust Claude is working from the most recent context,” noted the company.

Meanwhile, Claude Research is similar to OpenAI and Google’s deep research agents. It conducts multiple web searches before compiling them for users in less than a minute.

Anthropic is rolling out Claude Research first to Max, Team and Enterprise subscribers in the U.S., Japan and Brazil, and will be expanding to Pro users soon.
