Netflix testing OpenAI-powered search tool: Report

Netflix is reportedly testing a search engine powered by OpenAI. A new report by The Verge has stated that the search tool will help users to look for content with more prompts other than just name, genre and by actors.

Users will be able to use natural language queries to search for shows or films by their mood.

The feature will be applicable once users have enabled it. The new feature is already on trial for Netflix subscribers on iOS in Australia and New Zealand.

The outlet has said that the feature will be expanded to the U.S. within the upcoming weeks or months. However, currently the feature will be restricted to iOS users.

In October last year, OpenAI launched an AI-powered web search engine on their chatbot ChatGPT. The feature gives real-time information to users just like a regular search engine.
