Nothing may introduce subscription plan for AI features in Essential Space

Nothing may introduce a subscription plan for users to access certain AI features within the Essential Space app, according to a report by Android Authority, citing an APK teardown showed backend code mentioning “free trial” and “AI credits.”

The company’s latest smartphones, the Phone 3a and the Phone 3a Pro have an Essential key added which is tied to the Essential Space app.

The plan could also be a freemium model where users can try out some features before signing up for the subscription. But it’s not clear whether it would be a one-time payment or an annual charge.

In the iOS world, Apple CEO Tim Cook has denied rumours that Apple may charge users for Apple Intelligence. On the other hand, Samsung has hinted that a handful of AI features could be chargeable at the end of 2025.
