Google’s Android 16 update could let users switch between phone and external displays more easily

Google is working on improving Android controls that let users manage external displays through the operating system so that they can enjoy better PC input and display options, per a report by Android Authority.

These features could come as part of the Android 16 release, allowing users to switch between their phone and external displays much like Windows, macOS, and Chrome OS users, with fewer constraints.

Some features that are expected with the release include the ability to move the mouse cursor across external displays, and the option to both mirror the existing display and extend it, per the outlet. The features were seen in the Android 16 Beta 2.1, the tech outlet noted.

It is not yet confirmed whether the features will be included as part of the first Android 16 release, or if they are slated to come at a later point in time.
