Xiaomi's president said in a group interview in Barcelona that he was hopeful of the company selling its cars overseas from 2027, Chinese media outlet Jiemian reported on Monday.
"I’ll set a goal - I’m hopeful that in 2027 we will officially be able to start going abroad," President Lu Weibing told Jiemian in an interview, when asked about plans for its cars to be sold overseas.
Xiaomi is the world's third largest smartphone manufacturer and it ventured last year into making cars. Lu was in Barcelona for the Mobile World Congress.
