Magicpin pokes fun at Ranveer Allahbadia, Samay Raina, with ‘India’s Lost Talent’ ad

Magicpin, which describes itself as “India’s 3rd largest food delivery app,” has referenced the legal controversy surrounding the Indian reality show ‘India’s Got Latent” to advertise its services.

“Can we get back the magic in comedy??” questioned the platform on X, along with a poster that observed that while there were limits to humour, there needn’t be such restrictions for discounts. It also poked fun at the reality show by calling it “India’s Lost Talent.”

Magicpin allows users to order in food and fashion articles from a range of outlets, as well as access vouchers and deals.

The legal controversy surrounding ‘India’s Got Latent’ was sparked by YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, who made adult jokes about intimate relations between one’s parents, which led to accusations that the influencer was setting a poor example for his young audience and disrespecting his viewers’ sentiments.

However, others have defended Allahbadia’s right to freedom of speech and expression on a privately run entertainment show.

Allahbadia back-tracked and apologised for the jokes, but still faces legal action on multiple fronts. He, fellow comic Samay Raina, and other participants have been summoned by the National Commission for Women over the remarks.
